Art 2 Heal 1

The Art 2 Heal 1 Committee is dedicated to promoting artistic expression as a path towards mental and physical health.

Art has been used in private and institutional settings to help individuals connect with their emotions and heal. The Art 2 Heal 1 Speaker series in in the planning process and could be launched as early as 2012.

Below are some of our previous projects and programs

• Audiorb provided a drug and alcohol free dance club for teens
• Created a class that specifically addressed art as healing
• Launched a book club utilizing books on art as a mechanism to stimulate mental health

What you have to look forward to:

• Art 2 heal 1 will have a precense at our conference and our yearly retreat
• Fundraisers and partnerships to further the mission of Art 2 Heal 1
• Art 2 heal 1 speaker series

Prospective Speaker: Connie Pike

Pike is a Reiki master with Certificate of Mastery in the Sacred Art of Dying. Trained in the arts or coma therapy, she is also Chaplain for the Hospice of Napa Valley.

Prospective Speaker: J.D. England

Self proclaimed "strong back, weak mind," J.D. was a construction worker until a motorcycle accident in 1986 left him paralyzed from the waste down. He discovered his talent for comedy as a result of his accident and is currently a professional comedian in Fresno California as a "sit-down comic."
