Saturday, September 20, 2014: NEW ORLEANS BRIDAL CRAWL

Bridal Crawl New Orleans

The second annual Bridal Crawl is set for Saturday, September 20. Pub-crawl in style, help break the record for “largest gathering of brides” and raise money for Covenant House!

PRE-REGISTRATION

This year, The Creativity Collective is adding The Bachelorette Party, a pre-registration event on Friday, September 12th at 7 p.m. at the historic House of Broel (2220 St Charles Ave). Beverages and food will be available for a small cost. There will be a DJ, as well as photos and video from the 2013 event playing. The evening will end with a second-line featuring the Jazzmen. Cocktail attire recommended.

RECORD ATTEMPT

The brides will congregate at 2:30 p.m. for the U.S. record count for the largest gathering of brides at breathtaking Galvez on September 20. Come early and enjoy the wraparound balcony overlooking the Mississippi. For the record attempt, participants must wear traditional wedding dresses and veils from any culture, but creativity is encouraged and men are welcome!

THE PUB CRAWL

A toast will set the faux brides and grooms into pub-crawl motion through the French Quarter at 4:00 p.m. to locations with pre-arranged drink and food specials. Coyote Ugly is offering $1 shots and $2 beers, plus bar dancing for the ladies. 55 Fahrenheit has five $5 menu and drink items. The Beach on Bourbon has three-for-one drinks and a dance floor. The event ends at the Bourbon Cowboy with free mechanical bull-rides, balcony access and two-for-one drinks all night. Wedding cake will be provided by Swiss Confectionery and we have a few surprises in store!

Wanna relive that special day without all the stress? Always a bridesmaid, never a bride? Exorcise the demons of a bad marriage out of a perfectly good dress! Break out the white dress for a good cause, but wear comfortable shoes! 21 and over, please. I.D. required.

OUR CAUSE

The purpose of this fundraiser is to promote The Creativity Collective and raise funds for Covenant House which serves at-risk and homeless teens and young adults. Their 24/7 crisis center provides food, shelter and medical care. They also provide long term transitional housing, educational services, pre-job and on-the-job training, life skills and GED assistance. Covenant House works to reduce human trafficking and prostitution and provides counseling and emotional support for young adults in transition. Last year, 668 youth received assistance from Covenant House.
