The Creativity Collective: Dedicated to the Life of an Idea
The Creativity Collective started in 2007. The organization moved into a 6000 square foot upstairs building at 809 Main Street in Klamath Falls and dubbed it the Contemporary Arts Kitchen (CAK) in 2009. They acquired an additional 4000 square feet at 811 Main in 2010. Today, The Creativity Collective offers classes, live music shows, gallery openings and casting agency services at CAK. They write and direct theatrical plays and films. They’ve developed a roller-derby team, haunted house, artist retreat, art conference and a multi-media veterans tour: Legacy of Bravery Memorial Tours. CAK has a venue, gallery, VIP area, café, office and kids area, which are available for rental.
The Contemporary Arts Kitchen is operated by its members. These artists of all ages volunteer 20 hours a month in lieu of the $20 per month fee. Members enjoy the benefit of a creative family-like environment and event discounts while staffing, beautifying the space, working on in-house committees and promoting CAK and The Creativity Collective. It is our goal to:
Develop in-house projects that allow artists to gain experience and exposure
Ensure resources are available for creative individuals
Spark creative partnerships between artists and the community
Incubate artistic growth through arts education and networking
Increase arts awareness and opportunities for artists of all ages
Promote artistic expression as a path towards mental and physical health
